An experienced non-profit and for-profit executive with a deep background in public-private-philanthropic partnerships, ultra-high-net-worth philanthropy, media, and federal-state government relations. I served on management teams at one of the largest admitting hospitals, academic medical centers, and professional staff in Congress.

Discretely advise high-impact stakeholders on all facets of initiatives structured through innovative public-private-philanthropic partnerships collaborating with their trusted advisors and family members. Privately held strategic consulting practice supported by industry-leading experts who raise and guide, on-staff or as consultants, seven-to-nine-figure gifts for medical centers, universities, sports, tourism, and other initiatives.

·         Structured a comprehensive regenerative medicine campaign with participating global sports teams.

·         Designed a collaborative sovereign fund healthcare program in medical simulation training.

·         Advocate for PRI funds through community foundations for campaign strategies in health innovation.

 

Bassett Healthcare Network – Cooperstown, New York                                                                                            2021-2023

Senior Vice President, Chief Development Officer

Led the Network's foundation, marketing and communications, spiritual care, and volunteer programs. As a teaching hospital and medical school campus partnered with Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and through a nationally renowned Research Institute and venture partnership with Silicon Valley’s Andreessen Horowitz's a16z initiative, Bassett Healthcare Network continually advances its 100-year-plus mission of patient care, teaching, and research always anticipating and developing to meet the evolving needs of the people and communities in an upstate region the geographic size of the state of Connecticut.

·         Advanced over $100 million in new funding for urgent network priorities.

·         Launched the Uniquely Bassett advertising campaign that earned twenty million impressions in a year.

·         Helped strategically direct and secure a million-dollar New York state government grant for a critical project.

 

Give Kids The World Village – Greater Orlando, Florida                                                                                         2018-2019

Vice President, Development

Give Kids the World is a "storybook" resort where children with critical illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free vacations. At $59 million a year in charitable revenue, the Village is generously supported by Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Perkins Restaurants, Boston Market, NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Legoland, Hasbro, Make-A-Wish, and other corporate partners. The 84-acre non-profit in Central Florida can raise donations in all fifty states plus the District of Columbia. Since 1986, more than 170,000 children and families, including those from seventy-six countries, have fulfilled their dreams with the help of 18,000 active volunteers in a whimsical Village unlike any other place on earth.

·         Led a comprehensive fundraising campaign including principal, major, planned, and special event gifts.

·         Served on the Village Leadership team, overseeing all aspects of Village operations and strategies.

·         Sustained and closed challenging budget, achieving a 113% increase in funding in the first nine months.

 

Boca Raton Regional Hospital/University of Miami Partnership – Palm Beach County, Florida                       2006

An advanced tertiary medical center that was consistently named one of America’s best hospitals by the U.S. News & World Report. Recipient of Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence.

·         Raised a record single $75 million principal gift for a new hospital.

·         Managed $245 million in assets with ten reporting staff.

·         Rebranded the 50-year-old healthcare system as being among the safest hospitals.

 

Florida Hospital (now Adventist Health System) – Orlando, Florida                                                                  2002-2006

Director of Development

One of the largest admitting hospitals in the United States with over one million patient visits a year. Orlando is the flagship of a nationally leading health system with 19,000+ employees at the time.

·         Spearheaded the successful federal funding for a $450 million VA Hospital at Lake Nona Medical City.

·         Secured a $20 million lead gift in a thriving $100 million heart and children’s campaign.

·         Negotiated impact sponsorship packages with iconic MLB, NFL, NASCAR, NBA, and NCAA teams.

 

The Astronauts Memorial & Florida Space Research Foundation – Kennedy Space Center, Florida      1988-1990

President & Chief Executive Officer

A national monument to America’s fallen astronauts and the home of NASA’s K-12 education program, which uses space as a motivator to teach math, science, history, and geography.

·         Raised over $90 million in $15 donations by helping start the first national model charity license plate.

·         Helped secure approval of the first commercial spaceport authority in the nation with a focus on health.

·         Established collaborations with Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Nickelodeon Studios.
