FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is your specialty?

Cannon & Caius is a magnet for philanthropreneurs - for generosity seekers - for people who give, get and manage more collaboratively with better outcomes.  Philanthropreneurs, The Wall Street Journal once wrote, are hard-charging business people who revel in the fulfillment that comes from building a better world.  That's the definition of us!  We listen to our audience and understand need first.  Then we share our collective experience delivered through original, personalized content with those who are looking for new strategies on how to deliver their charitable initiatives more impactfully.

Do you respond to Requests for Proposals?

Because of the original, personalized content of our services, Cannon & Caius does not respond to general Requests for Proposals, also known as RFPs.  Fees for our services are provided through the web site or upon request where they apply.

Does Cannon & Caius use outside consultants for your services?

When the occasion calls for it, Cannon & Caius will use independent consultants for services provided.  When we use an independent consultant on a project for fee for service, Cannon & Caius will disclose that intended consultant engagement prior to use.

Do you disclose your client list?

As a matter of privacy and because Cannon & Caius frequently deals with matters that are sensitive in nature, and therefore require that we be discrete and discerning at all times, Cannon & Caius chooses not to publicly disclose clients of the practice, unless those clients wish that we do so specifically for the purposes of promoting their mission.

Do you sell or otherwise provide your information such as database contact names or philanthropists to third parties?

Cannon & Caius does not sell any of your information to third parties. To the contrary, you will find confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements reaffirming this policy on each available opportunity or recommended charitable project page.

Do you custody charity funds at Cannon & Caius?

We do not ever custody charity or non-profit funds of any nature at Cannon & Caius.  All donations or philanthropic investments are made directly to your charity of choice or are custodied with appropriate federally-regulated fund managers independent of Cannon & Caius, which are disclosed in writing where applicable.

Will clients be charged handling fees for your services?

Cannon & Caius does not charge handling fees to clients or prospective clients.  All fees for service, where they apply (some of our services are provided free of charge), are disclosed in writing prior to, during, and after a service is provided.

Do you charge performance fees (commissions) for your services?

Our practice does not charge our clients a performance fee (a commission or deferred payment) for any service we provide.  All fees for service, where they apply (some of our services are provided free of charge), are disclosed in writing prior to, during, and after a service is provided.

Is Anglesey Point an independent company?

Anglesey Point, Caius House, Generosity Exchange, and nth are practice disciplines -  service lines - of Cannon & Caius.  The four programs are not separate, independent, subsidiary, or franchise companies.

Is Thomas a news magazine? Are you journalists?

We are actually citizen scribes, not journalists. And, Thomas, is a multimedia magazine of sorts but not a newspaper or video news outlet.  Moreover, Thomas does not post daily news as it occurs - we decipher it instead and report on the ramifications of news worthy events over time. Our objective is to provoke you into considered thought and maybe even entertain you a bit as well.

Does Cannon & Caius engage in partisan activities, such as working for one political party or another, or for a candidate of only one party?

Cannon & Caius is not a partisan company and does not engage in partisan activities that are limited to one party or another.  We embrace the issue, the cause, or the candidate based on merit - not political affiliation.

Will Cannon & Caius publish my book or produce my documentary?

Cannon & Caius is not a publishing house or public production studio.  We only publish and produce our own projects.

Is Cannon & Caius owned by or part of a larger firm such as a global advertising agency?

Cannon & Caius is a privately-held, independent, professional for-profit consulting practice that is not part of a larger firm or other entity.

Does Thomas permit sponsored content or native advertising?

We do not permit sponsored content or native advertising related to politics or governing.  We also do not produce content for political candidates, political parties or political organizations.

Does Thomas endorse or oppose candidates?

Thomas does not endorse nor oppose candidates for political office.  We do rate candidates on elements that are found in the values Thomas Jefferson gifted us in the Declaration of Independence, as well as those provided by the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights, consistent with what our founding fathers promoted.  We do take positions on political or governing issues from time-to-time and are careful to disclose those activities as they occur.
